How I feel about this character: Oh Ted… I see a lot of myself in him. Like, I run away from confrontation, and I fear that I’ll never find someone, and I’m a geek, etc. So I get happy feels from that I guess!
All the people I ship romantically with this character: I think at this point, it’s just the Mother. I want her to complement him perfectly. I want her to just be the match he never knew he needed or even wanted.
My non-romantic OTP for this character: Robin. I love their dynamic, but it’s best when they’re friends and not trying to be lovers. Also Barney and Marshall for obvious reasons.
My unpopular opinion about this character: Um, I guess it’s a fairly popular opinion to think he’s the worst part of the show, or that the Mother plot isn’t interesting? I’ll admit I only care about the Mother when she’s mentioned, but I think that’s the way it should be. And I think he is interesting for the most part, since I think we’ve all been in a place where it feels like our friends/those around us either have it all together (Marshall and Lily) or can’t relate to what we’re going through (Barney and Robin).
One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon: Ahaha, I feel like if I really thought about this and went through each season I could make a list, but I can’t think of anything at the moment. I’ll just say that it seems like he fell into the trap that a lot of characters in long-running shows fall into where they keep making mistakes they should be mature enough to avoid by now, but they fall into them regardless in order to… keep the show interesting I guess. Ex: running off with Victoria.
