Day 24: Most gruesome death

Oh gosh there were so many things about this show that happened ONLY to progress the plot. I mean, if the characters just took the time to THINK or CARE about the helpless citizens of Earth, sooo many chapters could have been cut and the world could have been saved so much quicker. XD Buuuut it makes it more interesting when everyone takes the more difficult route.
So basically, a lot of things. One thing that frustrates me a lot is that NO ONE ELSE LEARNS INSTANT TRANSMISSION though. I’m not even mad at Goku, I’m just wondering why Gohan or Krillin or ANYONE doesn’t just freaking ask him to teach them.
And on that note, why didn’t Goku just teleport back to Earth instead of staying on King Kai’s planet when Cell explodes? And on THAT note, why doesn’t Goku tell everyone that he’ll teleport back home after he’s done training Uub for the day, so that he can both train him and still be with his family, instead of flaking on them again?
…So yeah.
And now for something more serious:

Oh man, I’ve realized recently that Vegeta pretty much gets to do the most badass things compared to everyone else in the series. At first I find it kind of unfair, but then I remember how he never catches up to Goku (and sometimes Gohan and others) so I guess it’s justified.
I’m going to say the Final Flash scene when he fights Cell was pretty cool. And even though practically EVERY other answer to this meme has been about the Buu arc, I’m also going to say 1) his speeches to Goku and before his sacrifice while under Babadi’s control and 2) his acknowledgement that Goku is better than he is, since that begins their sort-of-friendship that they form after Buu was defeated.
Probably not the hardest hit ever, but… do you remember that part during the Cell Games when a Cell Jr. jabs Yamcha in the forearm with its elbow?
THAT PART ALWAYS MAKES ME WINCE.
Which is kind of weird considering all of the ridiculously hard hits in this series. *shrug*
D’aww I love their scenes so much. I love the fluffy friendship fics of them during that year of training. If I HAD to choose one moment, I do love when Gohan asks to wear his clothes after training in the RoSaT. Second place would be when Pic throws him at that mountain. Because lol.
Side note: It saddens me when people just assume that they grew apart once Gohan got older. There’s really not many options to show their friendship after the Cell saga, but there are little subtle moments here and there that remind us just as much.
I don’t see why they’d ever grow apart.
Final, I guess. Meh. I like the first, too. This meme will pick up again soon. :)
Still first and/or final. Can I just say that TFS is making me like Freeza more than anything else ever could? Not that I was too familiar with that saga back when I answered this.
Uhh, Recoom.Because I saw a clip of his fight with Gohan on Youtube and I laughed hard at his dubbed voice.
It was just strangely funny to me, and yes, that’s the only reason I’m choosing him.
Only I totally want to be able to stop time by holding my breath like Guldo. How cool would that be.

I already said Gohan for favorite character, so… Trunks and Goten! Because I love them. A lot. And Bra! Because she seems cool. Heh, I like the halflings, what can I say. Oh, and I’ll add Pan too, because even though everyone says she’s annoying, I’ve never seen GT and therefore cannot say that myself. She seemed like a pretty good character from what I saw at the end! :)
But hey, Goku and Vegeta are awesome too.
MAYBE SOMEDAY I’LL LEARN TO MAKE A REAL DECISION.

Wow. I haven’t kept up with this in a while. I easily blame my schedule this semester. :P Anyway, moving on with this meme…I’m only on volume 6 of the manga (I already read the Z part though) and I’ve never seen any GT (and I don’t exactly plan to tbh, lol) So GUESS WHAT’S LEFT.

Yeah. No surprise there, even though I can’t wait till I’ve read more through Dragonball. But until then, I must go with DBZ. I actually wrote a somewhat-lengthy gush post on LJ when I was at the peak of my obsession this summer. Should I repost it here I wonder?
Not only is DBZ my favorite because it’s the only series I’ve seen so far, but also because the characters and stories it introduced. I love the whole slapstick comedy thing a lot, but it is pretty interesting to see the original characters tackle some serious situations. DBZ also has a very sci-fi angle at least in its first half, so that’s interesting too.
Heh. I just have to stare at this picture for a while before I post. Why isn’t Piccolo in a suit? Why is Vegeta pretty much the only one who looks sharp in his clothes? …Eh, that’s all I have.
Nothing wrong with the first and second. The third is just…¬_¬ I don’t even know, and the forth I don’t really consider all that important since it’s only in GT. Yeah, I’m a bit of a canon snob I guess, even though I do like a lot of filler.
But…yeah. Boring entry.

Hmm, what other named ones are there other than Saiyan and Namekian exactly?
Well, I’ll go with Namekians then, because:
1) They seem just a tad more civil than the Saiyans, wouldn’t you think?
2) They created the Dragonballs. The story we all know and love technically wouldn’t exist the way we know it without them!
3) Does anyone actually hate Piccolo? Exactly, he’s like the most universally loved character in the series, according to what I see on the internet. All the Saiyans are kind of controversial in that aspect.
4) Dende!
Not really a reason, I just wanted to post a picture of him. But kind of a reason, since who doesn’t love Dende? See, all Namekians are lovable.
5) They’re peace - loving, and yet they are capable of becoming much stronger than humans anyway. Not that that’s really a feat to write home about in this series, but you know.
6) Namek seemed kind of pretty. It would’ve been nice if the characters had a chance to have the simple wish-granting vacation they wanted when they first got there, but I guess the whole Freeza ordeal was a little more exciting!
